Outdoor music scene cranks it up a notch this weekend – Colorado News

Today

8:30 a.m. – Midland Hikers hiking group leaves from The Midland Stop, 801 Front Loop, Buena Vista (South Main). Easy to moderate hikes. Come early. Contact Judy, 720-466-0480, or Ron, 303-456-9058.

9 a.m. – Salida Bike Fest BAM (Bicycle in the A.M.) Ride meets at Amicas Pizza, 127 F St., for a 20- to 30-mile ride at an average pace of 11-13 mph.

5:30 p.m. – Salida Bike Fest Ladies’ Mountain Bike Ride, organized by Salida Recreation and Absolute Bikes, meets at the caboose on the north side of the F Street bridge. Designed for women of a variety of ability levels, the ride will last 1-1½ hours in the Arkansas Hills Trail System.

7 p.m. – Bike Week Travelogue presentation at Salida SteamPlant, 220 W. Sackett Ave., sponsored by Salida Recreation and Salida Cycling Club. Listen to stories by Aaron Weinsheimer, Kent Davidson and Janie Hayes. $5 admission. Cash bar available. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

7:30-9 p.m. – “Doubt,” a Stage Left Theatre Company production at Salida SteamPlant, 220 W. Sackett Ave. Food to be provided by Amicas Pizza. Tickets are $15 in advance and $12 at the door and can be purchased at the SteamPlant box office, stagelefttheatre.org, Sacred Ground Coffee Shop and Café Dawn.

Friday

8 a.m.-4 p.m. – Chaffee County Habitat for Humanity hosts its annual Women Build at 11301 CR 198, Nathrop. No experience necessary; full-day and half-day options available. Lunch and snacks provided. To participate or for more information, call 395-0482.

Around noon – Colorado Grand lunch stopover at Thonhoff Park, 142 Crestone Ave., Salida, features vintage cars in an annual charity tour covering 1,000 miles through the Rockies in five days.
