Black Knights hope for more of the same tonight against Strider
In tonight’s homecoming game, West Memphis Christian will look for continued success on the ground against a similar defense as the one they put up 581 total offensive yards against last week
The West Memphis Christian Black Knights (2-2) look for more of the same tonight as the Black Knights welcome the Strider Academy Rams (04) for West Memphis Christian’s homecoming game.
Expect the Black Knights, who just racked up 458 rushing yards on 26 carries in a 55-0 win over Delta Streets Academy, to once again roll with a dynamic rushing attack led by junior athlete Tyler Little, senior back Thomas Warren, senior back Malik Barrow and senior quarterback Parker Benson.
“I believe we’ll continue to stay with that (running attack) until we’re forced to do otherwise,” said West Memphis Christian head coach Darrow Anderson. “We’re going to have to establish a good run game and work some play action off of it.”
And, on paper it looks like the Black Knights should find similar rushing success against the Rams as they did against Delta Streets as the Black Knights will once again be facing an unorthodox defense with five down lineman. Anderson believes that if his backs can jet past the front line of the Rams then the Black Knights could create some big plays with their feet in the Strider secondary.
“We’re actually going to see the same defensive front,” Anderson said. “If you can get past that first initial line, especially with our zone-read stuff we do out of it, if we can break that first line of defense then it’s going to open up…
