Congressman Alan Lowenthal (D-47) will speak at the Monday, Sept. 18, Belmont Heights Community Association meeting.
“As a previous councilman for Long Beach (1992-1998), Lowenthal has a great love and understanding for our city,” BHCA president Maureen Neeley said in a release. “He sits on several House committees (Natural Resources and Transportation/Infrastructure) and will share his hopes, concerns and advocacy on behalf of our state and city.”
The appearance is particularly timely, Neeley added, because Lowenthal is working to add an amendment to FAA funding authorization to create regulations for helicopter operations in Los Angeles County.
In order to make the most of Lowenthal’s time, the BHCA is asking that questions be sent in before the meeting. Go to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/W2VF5FV to submit questions.
The meeting begins with a social time at 6:30 p.m. Monday, and will be called to order at 7 p.m. It is at Temple Israel, 269 Loma Ave. For more information, go to mybelmontheights.org.
