Gardena event sure to take the boredom out of dogs and their owners – California News

Being a dog owner should be fun.

So on Sunday, the American Kennel Club will present a Responsible Dog Ownership event in Gardena to keep your dog entertained.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Arthur Lee Johnson Memorial Park, 1200 W. 170th St., residents will have an opportunity to “meet the breeds,” watch a grooming demonstration and let their dogs try their paws at passing the Canine Good Citizenship test.

Other events for owners, their dogs and prospective owners just checking it all out include contests (longest tail, biggest ears, smallest dog — and more); AKC obedience, rally and agility demonstrations (let your dog try it out); a service dog demonstration; a trick dog demonstration and testing; and a flyball demonstration.

It’s free and sponsored by the South Bay Kennel Club and Southwest Obedience Club. For information call Jennifer Darcy at 714-227-4911 or Barbara Millman at 310-548-1919.
