A county Superior Court judge on Wednesday ruled that he will review in chambers the personnel files of two fired Calexico police officers who took part in the investigation of an alleged 2014 kidnapping, assault and robbery that left a 17-year-old Calexico male injured.
Judge Christopher Plourd’s ruling was in connection to a Pitchess motion filed by the defense attorney of one of three defendants accused of taking part in the October 2014 incident.
Plourd will review the files to determine whether they contain any instances of misconduct or credibility issues that could potentially call into question fired officers Gabriel Rodriguez’s and Luis Casillas’ handling of evidence in the alleged 2014 assault.
