The El Cerrito Showcase Parade on Sept. 16 is billed as the city’s “Biggest Parade in a Century,” celebrating incorporation in 1917.
The parade starts at 10 a.m. at the Safeway parking lot near the Del Norte BART station, and will go up Hill Street, turn right onto Key Boulevard, onto Richmond Street then up Moeser Lane to Cerrito Vista Park.
The procession will feature “over 800 walkers, 30 vintage vehicles, the Wells Fargo stage coach, many descendants of Victor Castro, scientists, athletes, school kids, Scouts, bands, famous authors, community clubs galore, former mayors and current elected officials.”
