As the American Red Cross responds to wildfires and historic hurricanes, eligible donors are urged to give blood. This will help the Red Cross be prepared to respond to emergencies across the country every day, according to a news release.
September is National Preparedness Month. Upcoming blood donation opportunities include:
Star City — Sept. 19: 2-6 p.m., First Baptist Church;
Sheridan — Sept. 21: 2-7 p.m., Sheridan High School; Sept. 23: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., First United Methodist Church;
Monticello — Sept. 22: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Second Baptist Church;
Pine Bluff — Sept. 24: noon to 4 p.m., Trinity Lutheran Church, 4200 Old Warren Road.
All blood types are needed. Appointments can be made by using the Blood Donor App, visiting redcrossblood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767.)
