There were 85 bookings at the San Joaquin County Jail in the 24 hours ending at 8 a.m. Friday. At that time, there were 1,354 people held at the jail, which has an official capacity of 1,665. When the jail is full, some inmates may be released early.
Weapons arrest: Officers found narcotics and a loaded rifle during a traffic stop about 9:15 p.m. Thursday near Carolyn Weston Boulevard and Queensland Circle. Officers saw narcotics in the vehicle after stopping the driver for a traffic violation. Officers searched the vehicle and found the loaded rifle. Police arrested 18-year-old Jordan Browder on suspicion of weapons charges.
Arson arrest: A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of arson after a fire broke out about 9:15 p.m. Thursday in the 800 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The Fire Department responded to put out the grass fire and while that the scene firefighters detained the suspect, Ryan Pavon. No structures were damaged.
Robbery: A man who picked up a woman about 7:10 a.m. Friday was pepper-sprayed and robbed by two women after he was taken to a motel on Wilson Way. The victim also was beaten and suffered bruises. The robbers were described as a black woman, 5 feet 6, 190 pounds, who was wearing black pants, and a Hispanic or white woman with long dark brown hair and wearing a pink T-shirt.
Robbery: A 16-year-old girl was robbed about 10:45 a.m. Friday near California and Second streets. The victim was walking when a woman ran up from behind and tried to take her belongings. The girl fought back, but the robber was able to steal her items. The victim was not injured. A…
