TUSCALOOSA — One day before its third game of the season, Alabama picked up another three-star athlete.
Vernon Jackson, a consensus three-star from Boling, Texas, gave his pledge to the Crimson Tide’s 2018 recruiting class during a pep rally at his high school Friday, becoming the class’ 11th commitment.

Listed at 6-foot-3, 240 pounds, Jackson is listed as both a quarterback and strong-side defensive end at Boling High School. The Tide views him as a linebacker. Alabama outside linebackers coach Tosh Lupoi is reportedly set to attend Jackson’s game this evening, too.
Jackson is Alabama’s first September commitment. It landed three in August, including fellow three-star athlete Slade Bolden.
