Phineas T. Barnum was born on July 5, 1810, in Bethel. On Wednesday, Sept. 27, a documentary about Barnum will have its New England premiere at a cinema in the town of his birth.
“P.T. Barnum: The Lost Legend” tells the story of the life and work of the legendary huckster and showman — who coined the phrase “there’s a sucker born every minute” — who also served as mayor of his adopted city of Bridgeport and a member of the Connecticut House of Representatives.
Corey Boutilier’s film will be shown at Bethel Cinema, 269 Greenwood Road. Boutilier will greet guests at 6 p.m. the film will be shown at 7 p.m. Admission is $10.50, $9 for seniors and students. facebook.com/ptbarnum.
