It’s time to switch things up a little bit and participate in Oktoberfest Unplugged.
Oktoberfest Unplugged features an intimate German beer and food pairing dinner complete with acoustic musicians scattered throughout the crowd. The special event is Oct. 20 from 6 p.m. to midnight. Tickets must be pre-purchased, and the event often sells out. Tickets are $120 for dinner only or $145 for the weekend package.
Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest organizer Monica Marini compares the food to a Sunday dinner or holiday meal. “When I was growing up in a German family, we’d have parties at the house, and they always entailed good food, and lots of it, good beer, and then a lot of fun storytelling and music.”
The concept for Oktoberfest Unplugged emerged from the idea of these get togethers. “When people come here, they need to feel like they’re a part of our family, that they’re a part of a German Oktoberfest family, and they have fun,” Marini said.
Marini said all the guests get to know each other. “It’s by far probably my most favorite night of all the Oktoberfest nights and days because it’s much more, as if we were having a party at our house.
