Beach cities crime report for week of Sept 14 | Local News – The Beach Reporter – California News

Redondo Beach

Burglary

A suspect entered a closed business by smashing the front glass door and stole cash in the 2700 block of Marine Avenue on Friday Sept. 1.

Police arrested Ricardo Romero on Thursday, Aug, 31 after he allegedly stole items from a store without paying for them. Romero apparently selected concealed merchandise from a store in the 1800 block of Hawthorne Boulevard and walked right past the manned cash register.

Someone stole the coins from a washing machine by prying open the coin slot in the 1200 block of Agate on either Tuesday or Wednesday, Sept. 6 or 7.

On either Friday or Saturday, Sept. 1 or 2, a Ford F-150 pickup truck in the 500 block of Avenue G was broken into through the rear driver’s side window and a computer, iPad and two heart rate monitors were stolen.

Someone stole a beach cruiser from a secure parking garage in the 1000 block of South Catalina. 

Stolen vehicles

In the first week of September, five cars in Redondo Beach were reported stolen including a 1995 Chevy Suburban in the 500 block of South Broadway, a 2015 Chevy Cruis in the 1800 block of Artesia Boulevard, a 1966 Ford Mustang in the 400 block of South PCH, a 2003 Acura MDX in the 1900 block of Bataan Road and a 2017 GMC Van in the 5300 block of Mary Ann Drive.

Petty theft

Two packages were stolen from the front of a residence in the 1400 block of Manzanita Lane between Aug. 16 and Sept 5. 

Burglary

Thieves entered a residence in the 2300 block of Palm Avenue between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Sept. 1 and stole a purse and jewelry.
