STOCKTON — Arraignment in the case of a Stockton man facing criminal charges of bigamy and elder or dependent abuse has been delayed for almost five weeks to allow attorneys to review new documents.
The defendant, Stephen Woodrow Gass, 47, has not yet entered a plea in the case after making his first court appearance in August on the charges.
Thursday, San Joaquin County Superior Court Judge Ron Northup set further arraignment for 8:30 a.m. Oct. 18 in Department 8b of the new County Courthouse.
Gass is accused of being married to Elsa McCoy, 77, a Modesto woman who is blind, when he married Jennifer Boylan-Gass, 44, on Jan. 17. Boylan is also visually impaired.
