Corning police seek stabbing suspect – California News



Corning >> A man was injured in a stabbing about 9 p.m. Friday in the 1400 block of Butte Street in Corning.

Jose Luis Hernandez III has been identified as the suspect in the incident, according to a Corning Police Department press release issued Saturday. Hernandez faces a charge of attempted murder.

Officers responded to a residence at 9:07 p.m. and found the victim, identified as Jason Stewart, lying on the floor of his bedroom with a wound on his neck and a laceration on his left hand, the release said.

Stewart was taken by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Police are seeking information on the whereabouts of Hernandez, who may be in a black, lifted, four-wheel drive pickup that is possibly a GMC or Chevrolet, according to the release.
