This week? Our artsy weekend. Films, famous musicians and local artwork are on tap this weekend. The one-and-only Snoop Dogg, currently DJ Snoopadelic, performs at one of the ski resorts, and an eclectic arts and ecology film festival returns to Big Bear Valley. Art enthusiasts, this is one weekend you won’t want to miss.
Festival Angaelica is back in Big Bear for the second year in a row. But this is more than just a film festival, this arts and ecology event features outdoor adventures, live music, visual artists and more in addition to its week of independent films.
“Match,” a short film that examines a lack of human connection in the smartphone ridden modern world, screens at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23.
Four-minute animated short “Wanderer” follows the journey of a polar bear who moves to a city after losing his Arctic habitat. It screens as part of the experimental and dance category at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23.
This weeklong festival features live music daily, hiking opportunities, lake adventures, fishing, karaoke and more. Festival Angaelica runs from Monday, Sept. 18, to Sunday, Sept. 24 at the Big Bear Lake Performing Arts Center.
