AIKEN, S.C. – In its first match in 12 days, the second-ranked Columbus State University women’s soccer team opened Peach Belt Conference play with a 4-0 win at USC Aiken on Saturday.
The Lady Cougars are 3-0 on the season and are 16-0-0 against USC Aiken overall.
“We got off to a bit of a slow start,” head coach Jay Entlich said. “We looked more like ourselves in the second half, and you’re happy anytime you can get a result on the road.”
Columbus State dominated possession throughout and started its offensive attack from the opening kickoff.
The first two shots were saved and two more missed wide before Cassandra Wade found the the net. The goal was the second of the year for the senior.
